"Sustainability at the Border" - American Planning Association Webinar

Planning for sustainability is challenging in most regions; even more so if your region crosses national boundaries. Join the American Planning Association’s Sustainability Division & International Division as they contrast three global regions that face cross-border challenges that require coordination of different policy, financing, decision-making, and governance structures.

This 2.5-hour webinar will showcase three international examples of sustainable cross-border planning approaches, with water as the central theme connecting economic resources, regional culture, quality of life and habitat protection.

Huron Pines and Lake Huron Forever partners will present on the Lake Huron Forever initiative, highlighting how this collaborative model is being implemented on both sides of the Lake Huron to protect the lake, and the communities that depend on it. The session will include a moderated Q&A discussion.

The event will consist of three sub-panels plus informal conversation among panelists. The two other panels will include presentations from Mexico (Tijuana)-US border (San Diego), and from the Netherlands-Belgium border.

The webinar is free and open to all.
