Join for an afternoon of exploration at North Point Nature Preserve. Located east of Alpena, North Point Nature Preserve is home to 1,384 acres of forested wetlands, four miles of undeveloped shoreline and rare ecosystems found only along the Great Lakes.

Tawas Lake Day
Join us to celebrate and learn about Tawas Lake’s important ecological role. This year we will be doing a group paddle on Tawas Lake to explore the lake and learn about the diversity of aquatic plants that support this special ecosystem. REGISTRATION OPENING SOON.

Birding Big Sit

Volunteer Piping Plover Monitoring Kick-off
Join Huron Pines as we expand our network of piping plover monitors for the upcoming monitoring season (May through August). This kickoff event welcomes both seasoned monitors and newcomers interested in contributing to conservation efforts along the Lake Huron coastline.

Spring Learning Circle
The Spring 2025 Learning Circle will focus on Lake Huron’s threatened and endangered species. Participants will leave with an understanding of work being done to protect and enhance the habitats of coastal migratory birds and other species of concern.
