The Lake Huron Forever Pledge is a way for coastal communities to come together to show their public support and commitment to sustaining the health of Lake Huron and its surrounding resources. The goal is to use the pledge as a guide for municipal leaders to gain a sense of clarity and understanding of what they can do to help protect the natural resources on which their communities rely.

Identify early projects and get a few under your belt.
You can start small—host a rain barrel workshop, plant a small rain garden—get the community involved early and often as projects develop.
Look to existing Lake Huron Forever Communities for inspiration.
Read the pledge, see what other communities are up to and look for the areas you want to customize to make the pledge work for you.
Make the pledge your own.
Tailor the pledge to your community. Talk it through with residents, volunteers, at city council meetings etc. Develop a road map based on current and emerging priorities.
