Coastal Conservation Youth Corps Program

  • Goderich, ON Canada (map)

What could be better than spending time along the shores of Lake Huron learning about diverse ecosystems and dynamics while taking action to conserve and restore these special places? How about spending a week this summer working with a team of youth gaining hands-on experience with dune restoration, invasive species removal, shoreline surveys, plant identification, beach clean-ups and so much more?

The Coastal Conservation Youth Corps is a hands-on summer program that empowers high school students to protect and restore the Lake Huron shoreline. Participants gain real-world experience in environmental stewardship through activities like habitat restoration, invasive species removal, and shoreline cleanups—all while learning from conservation professionals. The CCYC fosters leadership, teamwork, and a deeper connection to the natural environment, preparing the next generation of Lake Huron’s stewards.

This program is led by Lake Huron Coastal Centre.
